Thanks to the wonderful foodie network Midtown Lunch, i made a trip on Friday to Dunkin Donuts for National Donut Day. Everyone got a free donut with beverage purchase. If you were near a Krispy Kreme you coulda just walked in and got a freebie with no purchase necessary…but i was hungry anyway…
First of all… I shop at starbucks because they hardly ever get my order wrong 3 x in a row in one transaction. I ordered a caramel latte light. They gave me a plain ol latte. I sipped it… and the guy said “Oh, it was caramel right?” yes. so he made a new one. Then the dude, whom i later learned was AVERY because his boss kept yelling his name, never called out my breakfast order which was an eggwhite veggie flatbread. somehow when he realized he never ordered my food he thought i ordered a bacon egg and cheese on a toasted bagel – because i guess those two are the same ? (NOT) And he asked if i wanted a free donut- Hell yeah… ironically- everyone before me was saying NO to the free stuff… and then i asked if i could Bank on those rejected freebies. It doesnt hurt to ask! they said no anyway. So when i opened my brekkie for the beauty shot i saw the bacon egg and cheese… i was irked but took it as a gift from the diet gods. It was good but egg white would have been better.

Thank goodness I packed a light lunch. I buy rotisserie chicken almost every week now as a treat for me and Mickey. I put the drippings and some cut up chicken in her kibble and she really goes to town. I use the chicken breast to top onto some fresh romaine lettuce. And some of the best Ranch I have ever had by newmans own. I was not really craving a salad but there is something about Newmans Own ranch that makes me think its laced with crack. Its rich, creamy, savory, and a little goes a very long way! How was I eating hidden valley all this time??!?!? gag.

Around snack time, I had a deliciously ripe Gala Apple and enjoyed bites of it with some Barney buter. I love the apple and pb combo. Usually I eat that before my ride home that way im not starving by the time i return from walking the doggy.
Now that summer is here…Fridays at work leave me unique ways to keep busy. I made this baby blanket for a co-worker who doesnt know if shes having a boy or a girl. so i chose mint green to make a single crochet popcorn stich combo.
Everyone loved the little pom poms on the blanket.
If you dont know how to crochet or knit, I highly recommend picking it up! Its a great way to keep your hands busy to avoid munching and boredom!
