My crock pot mish mosh was not what I expected it to be….so All the CHICKEN that I bought sits in my freezer. I am thinking of making some much needed chicken stew in the crockpot to get back into the crockpot love. But throwing all the veggies in the pot with the chicken just didnt taste as yummy as it was supposed to.
So while kicking rocks thinking about what to make for dinner, the clouds parted and the harlem boys choir started to sing… and I thought “what the hell do I have a deep fryer for!?” And plus Henry mentioned he wanted KFC later on… so i thought I would bring the KFC to my kitchen.
I had a small pack of chicken (because if i make too much- the temptation is too great…ever have cold fried chicken???MMM) and I dredged it in eggs and dipped it into a mix of flour, garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, salt, pepper, and a secret ingredient. I set the fryer on “chicken” and dropped those suckers in for 10 painful minutes. When they were done, I let them drip dry on a wire rack. This lets them get super crispy on the outside and mega juicy on the inside.
Honestly, making your own fries really puts portions into perspective! Im sure that above doesnt look like 6 potatoes… but it is. You should think about that next time you scarf an entire order of Large Fries… how many potatoes do you think are in there?
I fried them for 8 minutes until they were crispy cuz i love crispy fries. I let them drip dry and sprinkled them with sea salt. These tasted a lot like Belgian Fries. And I provided Ranch and Honey Mustard for him to dip. He liked honey mustard the best, as did I.
