Happy Valentine’s Day!

Some of you are probably reading this with a chip on your shoulder. The majority of singles out there genuinely hate this day. A day where it seems that everyone has love but you. I used to feel that way, but I’m embracing my newly single status with a night of Karaoke, good friends, and good food! Pics to follow.

I thought it would be appropriate to share my best and worst Valentines Day Experiences with you all.

I always try to see the silver lining in every situation but my last Valentines Day was Screaming for me to run… but i never listen to myself. :-) I had been dating Henry for about 3 months and I was looking forward to Valentines Day. The morning started as a regular ol’ Saturday when I was at tap class. The plan was to go to tap class and then go home where Henry would pick me up for a weekend getaway to an undisclosed location (if you’re just starting to date someone you should never plan for surprises unless you really know someone).  Dance was progressing as usual and towards the end of class I did a move that caused something to snap in my ankle. I sprained my ankle! When Henry picked me up later in the afternoon and saw my limp he became so sad. He planned a weekend in a cabin in the woods… woods…. hiking…. icy forest – holy shit. Long story short, I couldn’t hold my own and had the most miserable time. I love a good day outdoors but me and ice… dont go. Im laughing now that I remember this… signs were everywhere that we were not made to be together. LoL.

My BEST Valentine is priceless. No matter how many Valentines I have I will always remember this one. In High School, My best male friend (whom i was madly in love with but never told) was handing out carnations to all the girls in school the day before Valentines Day (it was a friday) And I held my breath every time he passed by with flowers. The day came and went and he ran out of flowers. I hid my disappointment well and on Valentines Day there was a knock at my door. When i opened the door, no one was there but there was a note on the floor. i closed the door and read the note. A love note from my best male friend. At the end of the note  said “look outside” and when i opened the door again, he was standing there with a rose. Do you know what that does to a 15 year old? think hershey bar sitting in the sun. :-) I am still friends with this guy and hes happily married with his first baby on the way! God Bless him and his growing family!

About a month ago, i stumbled upon a new Blog. Fashion Meets Food. A sweet girl thats in the process of planning a wedding. She threw the idea out there that she wanted to do a Valentines Day Exchange and I volunteered.  She hasn’t gotten her parcel yet but i think its something everyone would like. :-)

The mail man dropped off this cheerful box and it came at a great time! I was so excited to see what Erica sent!

First thing I saw was some strawberry marshmallows… Oh Erica! You did good already! I have been having hot cocoas with strawberry, heart shaped marshmallows since last week! I think i need to stock up on these babies before the holiday is over!

And lovely pink themed treats! She knew my fondness of pink.. pink cupcake liners, pink chocolate chip pancakes, pink truffles, pink hot cocoa, a pink tea towel,  chocolate pretzels, chocolate candies, a pink spatula, and a lacey pink eye mask for bedtime.

Now if you’ll excuse me, there are some brownies in the oven for tonight that need to cool.

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY LOVAHS!
