A lot of you are really awesome with your supportive comments regarding my mushy food and my wisdom teeth thingy. A lot of you also made me jealous with how quickly you were able to bounce back from the procedure. I had to go back to the doc yesterday because i was in sooo much discomfort still and I thought I was cute by eating sashimi and rice for lunch which put me in a world of hurt… i went to the doc like “OMG DOC, IM DYING”. He looked at me and my wounds and said “You arent taking your pain killers!”
And he was right. These damn pain meds are heavy. They make me LOOPY too. I had a conversation with the Dude about seeds and tomatoes and when he went off topic i kept it going with seeds… he was like “WTF are you talking about?” And i just said “Nothing. Im high. Ignore me”.
So here I am. Blogging. On Vicodin. I gotta tell ya, I feel no pain right now. But i am most def a little loopy. I think you guys dig it though, no?
Well, speaking of the Dude, we had plans to go to some cocktail party in Long Island City with a coworker when it started pouring a few days ago. Now, i usually don’t make decisions based on weather but the dude and I had the same idea when we decided to stay somewhere closer and possibly more dryer (is that a word? prob not- just go with it) for din din.
And for some strange reason, i lose all decision making capabilities when i hang out with the Dude. I give him total control over the situation (which I think he hates… maybe) and he suggested we go to 5 Points. I was totally game since I have acutally never been there. Win Win.
We sat at the bar and watched the rain POUR down, HARD. And ANGRY. And ordered drinks. It was happy hour after all. So i enjoyed a $5 sangria. It was tasty. It had a little zing to it that reminded me of Kombucha. I dont like Kombucha but the sangria was really tasty in an interesting sort of way.
Placed in front of us were these homemade potato chips that were sprinkled with sea salt and crack. They were ridiculously addicting (lots of dic sounds here… twss). While the Dude and I waited for our food, we talked and noshed, talked and noshed and pretty soon, killed the once- overflowing, now empty bowl of chips. “Please sir, can I have some more!”
The dude and I were having awesome conversation (as always) about our current dating life. Its amazing we still carryon meeting people with all these deal breakers.
“Bro, He doesnt eat vegetables! Like WTF!”
“She hates Dark Chocolate! Can you believe that?”
And what I want to know is How does anyone put up with our foodie BullSh*t? We must be just ridiculously good looking… yeah- thats totally it.
Our food started to come out and looking back I really miss crunchy food.
We ordered bruschetta. Topped with creamy ricotta cheese (oh how i love thee) and fava beans. I beleive these were Divas First Fava Beans- i liked them! mucho! I think the ricotta did it for me though. It just tasted so good!
We also ordered and split the pizza with thinly sliced potatoes and truffle oil. This pizza was mouth sex. The truffle oil was everywhere and the pizza couldnt get in my mouth fast enough. It was bite after glorious bite. The crust was great but really the cheese, potato and truffle oil were making love to eachother and I was letting them menag in my mouth! (dude. how dirty is my MIND right now?!?!)
You totally get it though right?
Yeah, this pizza sucks…. NOT!
Lastly, we ordered blurry steak skewers. Im really sorry about my camera lately. Its totally letting me down. I plan on getting a real blogger camera very soon! how happy day. The steak skewers were okay… i mean compared to the pizza- nothing will ever be as good.
So i really liked 5 points. I really loved the pizza. And I really shouldnt blog on Vicodin anymore… unless of course you love it.
